Analysts warn of the risk of a sharp drop in Bitcoin

Bitcoin has seen strong growth since its February lows, but the market has hit a key technical barrier. Analysts warn that if the price fails to hold above key levels, another sharp correction could follow.

Bitcoin is battling an important technical threshold

The price of bitcoin has risen by roughly 35 to 40 percent in recent weeks, bringing it back into the spotlight for both retail investors and large institutional players. However, the rally stalled near the 200-day exponential moving average in the $82,000 range, which the market views as a key threshold for further development.

An analyst posting on the X network under the name Brett noted that a successful daily close above $82,000 could signal the end of bearish dominance. Historically, Bitcoin has managed to launch stronger growth phases after breaking through similar technical levels. However, the current price rejection in this area suggests a more cautious outlook for now.

The market is monitoring both the risk of a correction and positive signals

Some analysts warn that if Bitcoin fails to break through the mentioned level, selling pressure could increase and the market could head toward new long-term lows. History shows that unsuccessful attempts to break through the 200-day moving average have often led to deeper declines. Some technical models therefore also factor in a scenario of a decline toward the $56,000 range

On the other hand, however, the situation is not entirely negative. The market also resembles the periods in 2018 and 2020, when Bitcoin, after testing long-term averages, subsequently began a more significant rally. Continued interest from institutional investors and the inflow of capital into U.S. spot ETF funds—for example, through products from BlackRock—remain important supporting factors. Further developments will likely determine whether the current level represents merely a short-term hurdle or the beginning of a deeper correction.
