How to earn money through cryptocurrency airdrops?

What is an airdrop and why does anyone give it away for free?

If someone wants to get started with cryptocurrencies but doesn’t have much or any initial capital, they can try a different strategy. Airdrops are special packages that, when “caught,” give you a certain amount of cryptocurrency for free. It is simply transferred to your crypto wallet, and you can continue to work with it.

You may be wondering why anyone would give away crypto for free, and the answer is quite simple—it’s marketing. New cryptocurrencies have a pretty tough start these days—unlike in the past, there are now so many coins that it’s not easy to find your place in the market.

It takes originality, ideas… or airdrops. By giving away a few coins for free, a new brand can make a name for itself and attract potential investors. People simply receive an airdrop, and the initial upward trend of a new cryptocurrency is usually so attractive that people invest in it. And that’s what companies are betting on.

New trading strategy – Focus on Airdrops

However, you can take a different path and become a kind of “airdrop specialist.” Simply focus on places where airdrops appear, learn a few basic principles, and you can earn money just by collecting these virtual rewards.

There are several ways to get airdrops. The easiest is probably to use websites that focus on tracking airdrops. These airdrop aggregators often offer search and filtering by the current status of the offer, so all you have to do is regularly check which airdrops are currently “falling from the sky.” On some websites, all you need is a cryptocurrency wallet, while on others you have to register first. However, it is always free.

Airdrop as a game – When gamification hits cryptocurrencies

If you find this a bit dull and boring, you can take a different route. Some platforms offer certain tasks (quests) or games that you can complete and receive an airdrop in return. Sometimes it’s something really interesting, like when TokenHunt is announced and collectors search for their airdrops on a map using various keys and clues.

Most of the time, however, it’s basic marketing, where users are asked to follow, retweet, or tag. The disadvantage of some sites is that you have no influence over what reward you receive. Instead of an airdrop, you may receive NFTs. Elsewhere, you collect XP, which you can then exchange for a reward of your choice.

Telegram as a new platform for Airdrop?

Recently, crypto communities on Telegram have become increasingly popular. This network, usually used for communication, is becoming the birthplace of user groups focused on the development of new cryptocurrencies in the crypto environment.

Users can earn airdrops for participating in software improvements, such as by searching for bugs (known as bug hunting). However, it is usually not that complicated. Most users take advantage of basic quests (such as joining a Telegram group or sharing it with someone) and do not engage in bug hunting.

Is collecting airdrops just a game, or are there any dangers involved?

It may seem that there are no dangers involved in catching airdrops, but in reality, it’s not that simple. There are several ways that scammers can trick you and steal your money. Never share your seed phrase with anyone. It is ALWAYS a scam.

Never sign any suspicious transactions. Don’t immediately connect your crypto wallet to an unknown website. As soon as you see spam-looking comments with an “exclusive airdrop offer” or an unexpected pop-up asking for access to your crypto wallet, back off and give it a wide berth. It is most likely a scam or an attempt to steal your savings.

Also, be wary of projects that mimic well-known and verified platforms for collecting airdrops. If you click on unknown links, always check the entire URL address. Scammers usually include a word in the code that distinguishes the URL from the actual link to the website. In this regard, it is safest to use only platforms that are well-known among airdrop collectors and have been verified over years of use.
