Ki Young Ju, CEO of CryptoQuant, has endorsed Donald Trump as the best candidate for supporting the growth of the cryptocurrency ecosystem. Highlighting Trump’s recent Web3 project and his address at the Bitcoin 2024 conference, Ju argues that Trump offers a more favorable approach to crypto than Vice President Kamala Harris. As the U.S. elections approach, the betting market reflects increasing support for Trump, with significant wagers placed on the election outcome.
Trump’s Web3 Ventures
Ki Young Ju, the CEO of CryptoQuant, has publicly endorsed Donald Trump as the ideal candidate for fostering the growth of the cryptocurrency ecosystem. Ju highlighted Trump’s recent venture into the Web3 space with his project, World Liberty Financial (WLF), and his impactful address at the Bitcoin 2024 conference.
In a statement shared on social media, Ju noted that WLF has proposed launching its own Aave v3 instance, aimed at enhancing stablecoin liquidity for Ethereum and Wrapped Bitcoin. He believes this initiative could significantly expand the user base for decentralized finance (DeFi) protocols.
A Better Choice Than Harris
“He’s [Trump] a Web3 founder now. Regardless of the outcome, he’s far better than Harris, who shows no interest in crypto,” Ju expressed.
However, Ju’s endorsement has not been without controversy. Following his pro-Trump comments on social media platform X, he faced backlash from critics, with some labeling Trump a “scam artist” and pointing out that he had multiple opportunities during his previous presidency to advance the crypto agenda.
Harris’s Limited Engagement with Crypto
In contrast, Vice President Kamala Harris has made limited statements regarding crypto, promising to “build an opportunity economy” around cryptocurrency and artificial intelligence. Ju argued that the absence of regulatory frameworks under a Harris administration could lead to detrimental market conditions.
Election Debate and Market Predictions
Interestingly, neither Trump nor Harris addressed cryptocurrencies or DeFi during their debate on September 10.
Trump’s recent speech alongside billionaire Elon Musk in Butler, Pennsylvania, has rallied more supporters for his campaign, as reflected by market predictions on Polymarket. Current data indicates that Trump has a 54.4% chance of winning the U.S. presidential race, surpassing Harris, who stands at 45%.
