Bitcoin strengthened by approximately 20% over two days and climbed above the $77,000 threshold. The sharp rise significantly improved the situation for Strategy, which holds more than 840,000 BTC and whose average purchase price is around $75,385. After a period of uncertainty, its bitcoin reserve has thus returned to profit.

Bitcoin’s rise significantly strengthened Strategy’s position
Bitcoin briefly reached above $79,000 during the growth wave and climbed to its highest level since mid-May. Strategy currently holds approximately 840,447 BTC, and at current prices, the value of its portfolio has once again risen above the average acquisition cost. According to available data, the company’s unrealized profit this year reached approximately $450 million.
Yet the situation appeared considerably more tense just a few weeks ago. Between August 3 and 9, Strategy sold approximately 1,690 BTC for about $108.6 million and used the proceeds to buy back preferred shares of STRC. This was the fourth bitcoin sale in 2026, which raised questions among investors about whether the company was beginning to change its long-term approach to accumulating BTC.

Stability above key price levels will be crucial
A positive signal for the entire market is also the breakthrough of the 200-day simple moving average, which was around $68,967. If bitcoin can remain above this threshold, it may indicate a change in the longer-term trend. However, the possibility of a short-term correction after very rapid growth remains in play.
An important area of potential support is the zone between $58,000 and $67,000, where according to Glassnode data, the cost basis of approximately 3.44 million BTC is located. For further development, it will be crucial whether bitcoin can stabilize at current levels and hold above important technical thresholds. A more significant drop would quickly reduce the value of the company’s extensive bitcoin reserves, while continued growth could create greater room for additional BTC purchases before year-end. Strategy therefore remains one of the most closely watched companies.
