Those campaigns helped get a number of digital asset-friendly candidates into Congress and created the political conditions for the adoption of the first significant federal cryptocurrency legislation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Among the largest corporate contributors are Ripple, Coinbase, and Crypto.com. Money is also flowing from other cryptocurrency entrepreneurs and investment groups. Instead, it pays for television and internet advertising, voter mobilization, and other activities that can significantly influence the outcome of individual electoral battles.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">According to current <a href=\"https:\/\/www.fec.gov\/data\/committee\/C00835959\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title=\"\">data from the Federal Election Commission<\/a>, Fairshake received more than $135 million from the beginning of 2025 to the end of May 2026. During the same period, it reported expenditures exceeding $74 million. More recent data cited by Reuters speaks of raised funds amounting to more than $136 million.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Fairshake also operates through affiliated organizations focused on different parts of the political spectrum. Protect Progress primarily supports Democratic candidates, while Defend American Jobs focuses mainly on Republicans. The <a href=\"https:\/\/crypto-globe.com\/en\/top-cryptocurrency-podcasts-editorial-ranking-of-shows-worth-following\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title=\"\">crypto industry<\/a> is thus not trying to secure the victory of one party, but supports politicians based on their stance toward digital assets.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 id=\"aioseo-miliony-dolaru-miri-do-konkretnich-volebnich-souboju-15\" class=\"wp-block-heading\">Millions of Dollars Flow to Specific Electoral Battles<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">According to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.reuters.com\/legal\/government\/which-midterm-candidates-is-crypto-industry-backing-2026-08-03\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title=\"\">a Reuters overview<\/a>, Fairshake&#8217;s largest support to date has gone to Republican Barry Moore from Alabama. The organization spent approximately $9.43 million supporting him. Moore has previously supported several proposals favorable to the cryptocurrency sector and also advocated for legislative establishment of a U.S. strategic bitcoin reserve.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Fairshake invested approximately $7.17 million in supporting Republican Andy Barr from Kentucky, who has advocated for <a href=\"https:\/\/crypto-globe.com\/en\/bitpay-obtains-mica-license-seeks-to-expand-cryptocurrency-and-stablecoin-payments-in-the-european-union\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title=\"\">stablecoin<\/a> regulation as well as broader rules for the cryptocurrency market.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Significant amounts are also going to Democratic candidates. Christian Menefee from Texas received support of approximately $6.47 million, Jasmine Clark from Georgia $4.21 million, and Adrian Boafo from Maryland around $3.29 million.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The cryptocurrency sector&#8217;s strategy is clear. Instead of openly aligning with a single party, it is trying to create a bipartisan group of politicians who will be willing to advance its legislative priorities.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 id=\"aioseo-po-stablecoinech-prichazi-boj-o-cely-kryptotrh-20\" class=\"wp-block-heading\">After Stablecoins Comes the Battle for the Entire Crypto Market<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The crypto industry has already shown once that political investments can deliver concrete legislative results. In July 2025, the United States adopted the GENIUS Act, which created the first federal regulatory framework for payment stablecoins.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">As stated in the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.whitehouse.gov\/fact-sheets\/2025\/07\/fact-sheet-president-donald-j-trump-signs-genius-act-into-law\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title=\"\">White House&#8217;s official summary<\/a>, the law requires regulated stablecoins to be fully backed by liquid assets, such as U.S. dollars or short-term government bonds. Issuers must also regularly disclose the composition of their reserves. President Donald Trump signed the law on July 18, 2025.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">However, the sector&#8217;s ambitions do not end with the adoption of stablecoin rules. Now the cryptocurrency companies&#8217; attention is shifting to the Digital Asset Market CLARITY Act proposal, which is meant to create a broader framework for the operation of the American <a href=\"https:\/\/trader-magazine.com\/cfd\/weak-yen-and-yuan-tracking-the-usd-to-cny-exchange-rate-today-and-global-market-impact\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title=\"\">market<\/a> for digital assets.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The proposal should primarily more clearly divide powers between the Securities and Exchange Commission and the Commodity Futures Trading Commission. The bill also received support from 78 Democratic representatives, demonstrating that cryptocurrency regulation can gain support across the political spectrum. The voting results were published by the <a href=\"https:\/\/financialservices.house.gov\/news\/documentsingle.aspx?DocumentID=410816\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title=\"\">House Committee on Financial Services<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">In May 2026, the bill was also advanced by the Senate Banking Committee. According to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.reuters.com\/legal\/transactional\/us-senate-committee-weigh-crypto-bill-milestone-digital-assets-2026-05-14\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title=\"\">Reuters<\/a>, the law would, among other things, define when cryptocurrency tokens are securities and when they are commodities. The Senate committee approved the bill by a vote of 15 to 9, but the law still requires support from the full Senate.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Negotiations are complicated by a dispute between cryptocurrency companies and traditional banks, for example regarding the ability to pay rewards to stablecoin holders. Discussion is also generated by anti-money laundering rules, the status of decentralized financial protocols, and consumer protection requirements.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">According to a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.reuters.com\/legal\/transactional\/what-is-us-senates-landmark-crypto-bill-2026-07-22\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title=\"\">detailed analysis by Reuters<\/a>, the CLARITY Act would also establish criteria for identifying a truly decentralized platform. The organization Public Citizen considers record corporate campaign financing a risk to democratic decision-making, as politicians may be exposed to pressure not only through positive support, but also through negative advertising campaigns directed against their candidacy.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The debate therefore is not just about cryptocurrencies.
