As reported by <a href=\"https:\/\/www.tradingview.com\/news\/cointelegraph%3Aefc947afa094b%3A0-binance-disappears-from-google-play-in-certain-eu-countries\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title=\"\">Cointelegraph<\/a>, the app has stopped appearing in the Google Play store in some EU member states.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">However, the situation is not the same across the entire European Union. A user from Spain confirmed on Monday that when searching Google Play, they can no longer find the Binance app. However, it remained available through Oppo&#8217;s App Market, an alternative app store used on phones of this brand.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">According to available information, a user from Latvia confirmed the same situation. On the other hand, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.tradingview.com\/news\/cointelegraph%3Aefc947afa094b%3A0-binance-disappears-from-google-play-in-certain-eu-countries\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title=\"\">a check of the app&#8217;s availability in Poland<\/a> showed that Binance has not disappeared from Google Play there. Google states in its terms that cryptocurrency exchange apps offered to users in the European Union must comply with local legislation. For operators of these services in the EU, it requires authorization as a Crypto-Asset Service Provider, or CASP, under MiCA regulation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><a href=\"https:\/\/trader-magazine.com\/cryptonews\/quantum-computers-could-soon-break-bitcoin-within-minutes-google-warns\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title=\"\">Google<\/a> explicitly lists in its rules all EU member states including the Czech Republic, Spain, Latvia, and Poland. Neither company has yet publicly confirmed that the lack of MiCA authorization is the direct cause of the app&#8217;s disappearance in some countries.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Nevertheless, the timing of the problems is unfortunate for Binance. The exchange withdrew its MiCA license application, which it had filed through Greece, just days before a key European deadline.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Binance&#8217;s problems with obtaining a European license were reported as early as June by <a href=\"https:\/\/www.reuters.com\/business\/finance\/binance-set-lose-eu-licence-bid-permission-offer-services-bloc-sources-say-2026-06-16\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title=\"\">Reuters<\/a>, for example. It was in connection with the end of the transitional period that the exchange, without the necessary authorization, had to restrict some services to European clients. The company subsequently informed some European users that access to certain features would be limited. However, withdrawals were supposed to remain available.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 id=\"aioseo-co-zmizeni-binance-z-google-play-znamena-pro-uzivatele-23\" class=\"wp-block-heading\">What Does Binance&#8217;s Disappearance from Google Play Mean for Users?<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The unavailability of the app in Google Play itself does not automatically mean that the entire exchange has stopped working or that users have lost access to their funds.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">There is also a difference between whether someone already has Binance installed on their phone and the situation when they want to download or update it for the first time. It is precisely the distribution of the app through Google Play that may be restricted in some countries, even though other ways of accessing the platform remain intact.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">An example is Spain, where according to Cointelegraph&#8217;s findings, the app disappeared from Google Play but remained available through the Oppo App Market. In Poland, on the other hand, it is still available directly in Google Play. The current state therefore cannot be described as a blanket ban on the Binance app across the entire European Union.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Users should also be cautious when potentially searching for alternative ways to install the app. The disappearance of a well-known app from an official store may create opportunities for fake apps or fraudulent sites posing as the original service. Binance has not disappeared from Google Play across the entire European Union \u2013 while users in Spain and Latvia confirmed its unavailability, in Poland, for example, the app remains according to available findings.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">It has also not been definitively confirmed that Google is restricting the app in individual countries directly due to the missing MiCA license. Such a connection was suggested by the head of OKX Europe and would also correspond to <a href=\"https:\/\/support.google.com\/googleplay\/android-developer\/answer\/16329703?hl=cs\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title=\"\">current Google Play rules<\/a>, according to which operators of cryptocurrency exchanges targeting users in the EU must be authorized as crypto-asset service providers under MiCA.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Binance itself, however, speaks more generally about changes to Google&#8217;s policies and states that it is seeking a solution with the technology company.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">What is certain is that the problem comes at a very sensitive time. After withdrawing its Greek application, Binance still needs to obtain authorization under MiCA if it wants to offer its services in the European Union again in full scope.
