Bitcoin has stopped acting as an automatic passenger of technology stocks in recent days. While Nasdaq continues to benefit from a strong artificial intelligence narrative and stays near record levels, the largest cryptocurrency is losing momentum. Risk assets no longer move in one direction<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

The Bitcoin<\/a> decline came after the price failed to regain ground above the $67,000 area. The rejection of higher levels quickly cooled bullish sentiment, triggered a wave of long position liquidations, and forced traders to reassess how much additional growth they’re willing to price in after the previous strong period.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

But what matters isn’t just that Bitcoin fell. What’s important is that it weakened at a time when technology stocks remained strong. In recent years, Bitcoin and Nasdaq<\/a> often moved as part of the same risk trade. Now it appears investors are beginning to separate these two asset classes: AI-related stocks have a clear growth story, while Bitcoin must once again demonstrate what its next catalyst will be.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

AI has a story. Bitcoin has institutions.<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

The macroeconomic environment isn’t helping Bitcoin much. A stronger US dollar, higher Treasury yields<\/a>, and cautious signals from the Fed are creating more complex conditions for assets that don’t generate regular returns. Bitcoin is thus competing not just with cash, bonds, or gold, but also with the technology sector, which currently offers investors a more comprehensible and attractive growth thesis.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

However, this doesn’t mean Bitcoin is disappearing from the game. Spot Bitcoin ETFs<\/a>, broader institutional access, and growing involvement of major financial players have fundamentally changed the market structure compared to previous cycles. So right now, narrative is clashing with infrastructure: AI is winning the battle for attention, but Bitcoin’s institutional base may determine whether $60,000 becomes a solid floor \u2014 or just another stop on the way down.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
