But the Real Battle Is Moving Elsewhere

Nvidia remains the symbol of the entire artificial intelligence boom, and its position in training large language models is still exceptionally strong. However, the market is gradually changing. Investors are no longer tracking only the performance of graphics chips, but also inference, autonomous AI agents, data centers, network infrastructure, and custom chips. This is where space is beginning to open up for AMD and Broadcom, which could have a significant say in the distribution of market forces in the next phase of the AI cycle.

You might also like: How to safely invest in cryptocurrencies: a beginner’s guide

Nvidia has a strong lead, but also high expectations

The main argument in favor of Nvidia remains the same: the company has built an entire ecosystem around its chips. The CUDA platform has become the standard for developers, research centers, and large technology companies, making it significantly harder for competitors to replace its solutions. Today, Nvidia is not just a GPU manufacturer, but a provider of complete AI infrastructure from chips through network solutions to entire server racks. Thanks to this, it maintains a strong position not only in model training, but is also trying to rapidly expand into inference and agentic AI.

The risk, however, lies in the fact that the market has already priced in an exceptionally optimistic scenario into the stock price. Nvidia’s valuation is based on the assumption that demand for AI infrastructure will remain extremely strong in the coming years. Any slowdown in revenue growth, decline in margins, competitive pressure, or restrictions on tech giants’ investments in data centers could therefore trigger a sensitive reaction. Nvidia is still the leader, but the larger its market capitalization, the more difficult it is to maintain the pace that investors expect.

Read more: Tickmill broker review: Assets, platform, and fees

AMD and Broadcom show where further growth may emerge

AMD is entering the next phase of the AI boom from a different position than Nvidia. It remains weaker in model training, but inference and data centers may offer more interesting opportunities. This segment is more dependent on memory, throughput, and efficiency than on raw computing power itself, which favors AMD’s chiplet design. At the same time, the ratio between GPU and CPU is changing. With AI agents, the importance of high-performance processors may grow, which could open up another revenue source for AMD. Broadcom, on the other hand, is benefiting from the trend of custom ASIC chips, as major tech players are looking for cheaper and more efficient alternatives to universal GPUs.

For investors, this means that the AI market is no longer just a one-company story. Nvidia still has the strongest position and the most robust ecosystem, but AMD and Broadcom can benefit from parts of the market that are just getting started. However, it is also true that the entire sector is sensitive to high valuations, rapid technology changes, pressure on capital expenditures, and competitive battles between chip manufacturers and the hyperscalers themselves. The biggest opportunity may therefore lie not just in who dominates today, but in who can best capture the next phase of AI infrastructure without investors overlooking the risks.

Don’t miss: MadisonSix: the path to cryptocurrencies without technical baggage

Nvidia remains the symbol of the entire artificial intelligence boom, and its position in training large language models is still exceptionally strong.
