April brought an appreciation of 11.87%, which <a href=\"https:\/\/www.coinglass.com\/today\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title=\"\">according to data from analytics platform CoinGlass<\/a> represents the best result since April 2025. Back then, the world&#8217;s largest cryptocurrency recorded an even more significant gain \u2013 14.08%.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">However, there is one catch \u2013 despite the strong performance, this year&#8217;s April remained slightly below the historical average, which stands at approximately 12.98%. Investors therefore monitor not only current developments but also the historical returns of individual months.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">According to data, May typically brings appreciation of around 8%. This raises the question of whether Bitcoin will manage to build on April&#8217;s growth or whether another cooling period will arrive.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Despite the positive development, Bitcoin remains significantly below its peaks. <a href=\"https:\/\/coinmarketcap.com\/currencies\/bitcoin\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title=\"\">According to CoinMarketCap<\/a>, it currently trades around $78,190, which is approximately 38% less than the all-time high of $125,100 from October.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Investor sentiment therefore remains cautious. The Crypto Fear &amp; Greed Index <a href=\"https:\/\/alternative.me\/crypto\/fear-and-greed-index\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title=\"\">shows<\/a> a value of 39 points, which corresponds to the &#8220;fear&#8221; category. And the answer is not clear-cut. CryptoQuant <a href=\"https:\/\/cryptoquant.com\/insights\/research\/69f3805fe2872616b411be88-30-April-2026-Speculative-Rally-Bitcoins-April-Price-Surge-Was-Fueled-by-Perpetu\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title=\"\">warns<\/a> that April&#8217;s growth may have been driven primarily by futures contract traders. According to them, this could mean a risk of a several-month correction.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">On the other side stands a more optimistic view. MN Trading Capital founder Michael van de Poppe <a href=\"https:\/\/cointelegraph.com\/news\/bitcoin-doesnt-need-a-fresh-narrative-to-reclaim-100k-analyst\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title=\"\">believes<\/a> that Bitcoin doesn&#8217;t even need a new strong narrative to break through the psychological barrier of $100,000 again.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">&#8220;No new narrative is needed to push the price higher,&#8221; he stated, adding that the question &#8220;what will get Bitcoin back above $100,000&#8221; may in fact be unnecessary.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Bitcoin last traded above $100,000 on November 13, shortly after a significant liquidation event on the <a href=\"https:\/\/trader-magazine.com\/news\/u-s-stocks-and-the-dollar-rise-markets-watch-developments-in-the-middle-east\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title=\"\">market<\/a> from October 10, when position liquidations worth $19 billion occurred.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">It hasn&#8217;t returned to this threshold since.
