According to data from the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ecb.europa.eu\/home\/html\/index.en.html\">European Central Bank<\/a>, they currently hold around 36,000 tons of gold globally, and their purchases are at record levels\u2014exceeding 1,000 tons for the third year in a row, which is more than double the long-term average.
