This is due to a significant increase in the price of cryptocurrencies, according to a report by analyst firm TRM Labs.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">DMM Bitcoin<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">However, the value of stolen cryptocurrencies remained below the record level set in the first half of 2022, when hackers stole nearly $2 billion worth of cryptocurrencies, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.bloomberg.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title=\"\">Bloomberg<\/a> pointed out.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Roughly 70 percent of the total value of stolen cryptocurrencies in this year&#8217;s first half was accounted for by five major hacking attacks. The largest of these was the May attack on Japanese cryptocurrency exchange DMM <a href=\"https:\/\/crypto-globe.com\/en\/bitcoin-halving-a-detailed-guide-to-a-key-event\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title=\"\">Bitcoin<\/a>, in which hackers obtained bitcoins worth over $300 million.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">The price is rising &#8211; securing it does not<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">&#8220;While we haven&#8217;t seen any major changes in the security of cryptocurrency systems, we have seen significant increases in the prices of various cryptocurrencies,&#8221; said Ari Redbord of TRM Labs.
